A second set of court documents linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein has disclosed the extensive recruitment of girls at his beachfront mansion.
The papers, part of a lawsuit against Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former girlfriend, were made public under a judge’s order. They detail how approximately 30 women were recruited for “massage and work” at Epstein’s residence, with some paid to bring their friends.
Joseph Recarey, a Florida police detective, testified in a 2016 deposition that Maxwell was involved in the recruitment, emphasising that most of the girls were under 18, and only two had any massage experience.
The papers, previously part of Maxwell’s trial, shed light on the exploitation of underage girls for Epstein’s sexual gratification. They also implicate various individuals, including Prince Andrew and former President Bill Clinton, though their inclusion in the documents does not necessarily imply wrongdoing.
Amid the unsealed records, allegations against Prince Andrew include claims of sexual abuse in London, New York, and on Epstein’s island, allegedly at Maxwell’s instruction. Former President Clinton is mentioned, with a suggestion that he “may have information” on Maxwell and Epstein’s activities due to his association with them.
The documents also unveil a claim by Epstein accuser Virginia Giuffre that Clinton intervened at Vanity Fair magazine to prevent sex-trafficking articles about Epstein. However, Clinton has denied any wrongdoing or awareness of Epstein’s crimes.
Another revelation involves an accuser, identified as Jane Doe #3, alleging trafficking to “powerful men, including numerous prominent American politicians, powerful business executives, foreign presidents, a well-known Prime Minister, and other world leaders.”
The new trove of documents includes Maxwell’s lawyers arguing that journalist Sharon Churcher helped “concoct” allegations against Prince Andrew and attorney Alan Dershowitz.
Dershowitz, seeking the release of suppressed documents, asserts the existence of “smoking guns” related to the credibility of accusers and accused. Jeffrey Epstein, who pleaded guilty in 2008, took his life in 2019, while Maxwell is serving a 20-year prison sentence, with her lawyers appealing against the sentence.
