Local eyewitnesses say Israeli forces and tanks have pulled back from some parts of northwestern Gaza City, after the Israeli military announced plans to withdraw five brigades from Gaza in what analysts see as a possible change in tactics. Israel’s Supreme Court struck down a law that would have limited its power over government decisions, thwarting Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judicial overhaul plan — which sparked mass protests last year — and putting the country on the verge of a constitutional crisis.
